Meet the Team

At NISADE we strive to add a personal touch to every guest encounter, and a great way to start is by introducing you to our team. From all walks of life and each corner of the globe, we come together to make sure your Niseko experience is unforgettable on every single level.

We’ve got ex-scientists, chefs-on-the-side, former wedding planners, weekend kayak guides and qualified PE teachers. We love to paint, ski, eat, write, cycle, garden, and hike, but most of all, we love Niseko. Team NISADE looks forward to making your acquaintance!

  • Jonathan Pow
  • Jonathan Formal

Based in Whistler, Canada, Jonathan leaves day-to-day operations to the Niseko team but still plays a valuable roll in major strategy planning and is the heart and soul behind NISADE’s core values.

With over fifteen years in property development Jonathan has an extensive knowledge and skill base in Development Management. These skills were honed managing the money of high net worth individuals in property development across industrial, commercial and residential development. As a founding shareholder of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) licensed Quantum Syndicate Management Ltd, Jonathan experienced the entire development mandate, from site identification, project financing, due diligence, project management, and construction through to the finality of sales. Having developed circa USD$300m in residential property and projects, he is well versed in the processes and key competencies that ensure project success. Leaving Quantum, Jonathan’s vision was to focus on sustainable property investment in the alpine environments throughout the world. His dedication and passion saw this dream come true.

Jonathan’s personality encompasses the scope of a visionary and a firm grasp of the big picture. These elements ensured that NISADE has become the establishment that it is today; a progressive and prosperous company that also offers a highly enjoyable work environment.

Kozue came to Niseko in search of the glorious Japow, and like so many others, she found herself unable to leave.

Koz is a true sweetheart and an extremely hard worker to boot! As well as her Reception Manager responsibilities she also oversees the Japanese side of our marketing campaigns, as well as being an expert on local restaurant knowledge. Her fluent English and Japanese makes her a big help when it comes to navigating some of Japan’s intricacies, and she is always more than happy to lend a hand.

Voted as the Most Valuable Player by her team-mates for two years in a row, Kozue is sure to help keep The Vale running ship shape, with a very sweet manner which endears her to everyone she meets.

  • WiwiFormal

Wiwi came to Niseko as an intern for NISADE in her last year of university at Taylor’s in Kuala Lumpar in 2012, and we never let her go. Originally from Indonesia, she was quickly promoted to Duty Manager when it was realised that her unfailing follow-up and meticulous administration were a key asset to the smooth running of the Front Desk.

Wiwi has a strong understanding of property systems, and her background in hospitality combined with her strength in numbers and analysis makes her a key member of our Asset Management & Accounts team.

Wiwi is now administering our Property Accounts and is the point of contact for all Owner-related accounts queries and requests. She also bakes some pretty mean muffins, just one of the reasons she is a pleasure to work with.

After studying chemistry at Lewis & Clark College, Oregon, Mika headed home to Japan and decided she was in need of some pow. After a Niseko season in a guest services role, she was recruited by NISADE for the summer. We weren’t sure where she would fit, but we knew we had to have her! Now she makes up a vital part of our Development team, where her fluent Japanese and English as well as her enthusiasm for pretty much everything make her a great person to have in the office.

  • Hien

Hailing from a little town outside of Toronto, Canada, Hien is a passionate Customer Service Management professional with a focus on execution and drive for results. He has a true talent for building supplier and agent relationships, and loves a good yarn about gourmet food, martial arts, or anime.

Hien uses his background in marketing and sales management to understand different buyer behaviours, create efficient sales processes, and implement effective sales strategies. His work for The Fairmont in Canada has helped him raise the bar for NISADE guest experiences to a new level of luxury.

  • kate
  • KAteFormal

Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Kate is much loved for her kind nature, big smile, and willingness to help out absolutely anyone. Although she hates bugs, Kate is a qualified entomologist, and she loved studying the wildlife of Niseko during her first summer here – from a safe distance of course!

A true all-rounder, Kate started out on Front Desk but we quickly discovered her amazing multi-tasking skills, and snapped her up for our Asset Management & Accounts team. Kate is now administering our Owner bookings and is also the point of contact for Guest Services.

Our kick boxing Kiwi hails from Christchurch, but boasts a bevy of international experience. A stint in Vietnam working for the Sofitel as Inspired Meetings Planner is just part of her background in the luxury hospitality industry.

Jemma secured a spot on the Graduate Management Trainee Program at the Novotel on Melbourne’s famous Collins street. In this program she got to prove herself in a range of departments, including Food & Beverage, Reception, Concierge, and Reservations. This gives her the perfect accumulation of experience and knowledge to help us out in a variety of areas, and we love picking her brains for hot tips!

Jemma has also worked on the JET Programme based in Iwate Prefecture, being the only foreigner living and working in a small rural village gave her a unique perspective on Japanese lifestyle and culture to say the least. In her spare time she likes to do anything outdoors-y.

A true Hokkaido local, Kondo san grew up in nearby Otaru and studied Information Engineering at Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan’s very own MIT!

He now plays an invaluable role supervising the development sites for NISADE properties, and is also known as somewhat of a speed demon on the slopes. Much loved for his warm smile and kind nature, Kondo san is always a big help whenever you can’t get those fancy bidets to work.

There’s a lot of paperwork that goes on behind the scenes in Real Estate, and it’s a good thing we have Taiji on the job. His thorough technical knowledge is a huge asset to the NISADE team, and the amount of information he retains is a little mind-boggling.

As a local with many years of experience in Real Estate, Taiji is invaluable in more than one way. With formal studies in economics, he delivers on many fronts, from transactional real estate through to contract negotiations with suppliers. His knowledge of compliance with relevant laws is an important weapon in the NISADE arsenal, as owners must be increasingly aware of compliance as Niseko attracts increased intensity from the various government departments. Taiji is also a certified Real Estate Licensee, making him a multi-faceted asset to the Real Estate team!
