It’s official; The Vale Niseko is the World’s Best Ski Boutique, as voted in the World Ski Awards for the fourth consecutive year.
Hokkaido’s magical mountains featured prominently in the 2017 “Snow Oscars”, a prestigious international event that draws the attention of the global ski industry.
The winners are chosen by public vote, which includes thousands of worldwide travel industry professionals. This makes the World Ski Awards a fantastic representation of the globes’s favourite ski destinations and the finest operators in snow tourism.
NISADE Chairman Jonathan Martin was in attendance to accept honours on behalf of The Vale Niseko. Also present were delegates from Kamori Kanko, who were delighted to receive the trophy for Japan’s Best Ski Resort on behalf of Rusutsu Resort. The Rusutsu region was in the spotlight as The Westin Rusutsu Resort also took out the prize for Japan’s Best Ski Hotel.
Fresh from their combined victories, Kamori Kanko and NISADE made a thrilling announcement: the two award-winning teams have formed a partnership that will launch The Vale Rusutsu as the first stage of a multi-million dollar development of Rusutsu Resort. See press release here.
It was a fantastic evening for our friends at Hokkaido Tracks also winning the award for Japan’s Best Ski Chalet.
“All these awards can be seen as victories for the region of Hokkaido,” commented NISADE Chairman Jonathan Martin.
“As our global tourism continues to blossom and local providers continue to innovate, the resorts of Hokkaido are set to become the most desirable ski destination in Asia.
The development of Rusutsu is just the beginning of a journey that will make the combined resorts of Hokkaido a destination that rivals the multi-resort regions of North America.”
